Live updates from the #FutureJobs Forum

8 Feb 2013

As the race continues globally to find and attract the best talent, Ireland today finds itself competing with an ever-growing number of countries, for the best candidates in science, technology and finance.

The solutions will be examined at the Future Jobs Forum, hosted by Silicon Republic, in The Convention Centre Dublin this morning.

International keynotes from such speakers as Sally Khallash, director, Centre for Global Talent Strategy, and Ryan Shanks, managing director, Accenture Talent and Organisation, Ireland, will offer a global view, while our panels of local leaders will discuss Ireland’s challenges and opportunities in the global battle for talent.

Panelists include Prof Orla Feely, chair, Irish Research Council, Mark Ryan, country managing director, Accenture, Ireland, Regina Moran, CEO, Fujitsu Ltd, Ireland, Brendan Cannon, Corporate Affairs director, Intel, Louise Phelan, VP of Global Operations EMEA, PayPal, Jane Lorigan, CEO Europe, and, and Prof Brian MacCraith, president, Dublin City University.

The objective of this forum is not to simply sit around and complain about the much-cited ‘talent gap’, but rather to bring together the stakeholders in education and industry to propose constructive and viable solutions to help Ireland compete and win in this global battle for talent.

Live tweets will commence when the forum kicks off at 8am.
