Amazing 30 days of jobs news for Limerick as Redfaire expands

20 Oct 2016

Limerick-based IT company Redfaire is almost doubling its Irish workforce, with the announcement of 40 new jobs at its HQ.

In what has been a striking 30 days of jobs announcements in the county, Limerick is welcoming yet more good news, as Redfaire’s expansion plans emerge.

The company currently employs 70 people, with 43 of those already in Ireland. New positions at the Limerick HQ will be in the areas of IT support sales, cloud IT consultants and software product development.

Redfaire picks well

Redfaire is increasing its headcount to satisfy a surge in overseas customers. A recent contract win with petrol station group Circle K is also adding to the company’s workload.

“Redfaire is focused on becoming [one of the] leading Oracle IT services companies in EMEA,” said CEO Brian McInerney to The Irish Times. “We are incredibly proud to be building a world-class IT company in Limerick.”

It’s all happening in the Treaty county at the moment. Yesterday, it was picked as a test bed for future smart-cities technology.

With an investment of €500,000 from Lero, the focus of the study will be on facilitating an internet of things (IoT) infrastructure to facilitate data capture from thousands of sensors and devices; from water, soil and air quality, to traffic, cycling and pedestrian movement.

Big boost

Earlier this week, real-time electronic payments company ACI announced plans to bring 50 new jobs to Limerick as it opens its new data centre in the city.

The state-of-the-art European data centre will deliver the utmost in reliability, security and data privacy.

Two weeks ago, IoT and Apple support company Trusource Labs chose Limerick as the site for its new centre of international operations, with the creation of 143 jobs.

Established in 2013, Trusource Labs currently has over 600 employees based in its Austin headquarters. It specialises in offering support services for the IoT and provides help desk services to companies who use Apple devices.

Next-generation ultra broadband player Casa has also located manufacturing and distribution operations in Limerick city, creating 50 new jobs over the next three years.

More and more

Casa said that it is also evaluating the potential for future R&D operations to be located at its new Limerick operation at the National Technology Park, with close proximity to the University of Limerick.

In late September, WP Engine, a managed services platform for premium WordPress websites, said it would create 100 jobs in Limerick over the next three years.

The biggest coup came 30 days ago, when US company Fazzi Healthcare Services announced it would create 300 jobs in Limerick at a new coding and healthcare services operation.

Fazzi Healthcare, an Irish subsidiary of the US-based Fazzi Associates, will roll out the medical coding and healthcare services jobs over the next five years.
