PwC’s Darren O’Neill says companies need to be brave and take chances on AI, and offers his advice for those looking for a foothold with this transformative technology.

The majority (64pc) of Irish CEOs believe that AI will significantly change how they do business in the future, but a surprising 51pc have no plans at present to pursue AI initiatives.

We asked Darren O’Neill, a PwC consulting partner heading up data and analytics, about his advice to companies holding back on exploring AI.

He outlined six AI priorities identified by PwC in its recent report: understanding the technology, developing an AI strategy, identifying datasets to solve specific problems, building an AI-ready workforce, making AI trustworthy and combining AI with other technologies such as the internet of things.
