We spoke to EY’s Laurence Buchanan about the changes employees and employers can expect in the workplace as a result of automation.

It’s fair to say that automation is going to send seismic waves of change through our society, and that will undoubtedly include transformations in how we work.

Do we have anything to fear? According to Laurence Buchanan, lead partner for digital with EMEIA advisory at EY, automation and artificial intelligence (AI) will more than likely aid humans in work as opposed to replacing them.

Automation and AI will still, however, raise important and challenging questions about how companies operate. We sat down with Buchanan to get his fascinating perspective.
