When people think of the working week, they tend to have a very fixed idea of what that entails – in the door at 9am and heading home at 5pm.

For Ciara Garvan, that kind of schedule didn’t faze her until she returned to work after having children. The demands of her new role as a parent alerted her to the limitations of the traditional working week.

The more she looked into it, the more she realised that offering people flexible working schedules would not only improve morale among workers, but could have far-reaching effects on productivity and talent flow.
