Fáilte Ireland’s Mark Rowlette is one of those leading the organisation’s Google Trekker Street View mapping on Ireland’s east coast and he says he believes it is a great way to encourage tourists to visit here.
It might have been a cold afternoon down on the South Wall in Dublin’s docklands but, unbeknownst to those walking the wall, it was being mapped for Google Maps Street View using the Google Trekker backpack.
Speaking to Siliconrepublic.com, Fáilte Ireland’s Dublin programme manager, Mark Rowlette, says that ideas like the Google Trekker and other online initiatives will help promote Ireland as a tourist destination.
