At the 2015 Innovation Showcase, we spoke to Connect executive director Dr Frank Smyth about connecting cows to the internet of things.
In a collaboration involving numerous research centres across the country and 10 higher education institutes, Connect is developing wearable radio sensors for cows that will transmit useful data to farmers.
Gadgets such as these are made possible by Connect’s research and development on future networks, providing the infrastructure to connect anything – even livestock – to the internet.
