Workhuman's vice-president of architecture, Mark Greville, discusses the most ‘underrated’ skills for a career in technology.

When you think of a career in tech, there are always specific technical skills that will be important, but you shouldn’t overlook softer skills either. That’s according to Mark Greville, vice-president of architecture at Workhuman.

At his company, staff are encouraged “to have a voice and to use that voice” to bring ideas to the table, he said, and to merge their knowledge of technology with a “sense of humility” and a “sense of respect”, as well as a willingness “to take on challenges”.

“Develop a habit of learning,” Greville said. “But then the other side of that is actually creativity. That’s something that’s very, very underrated in technology.”
