6 Dec 2010

Data Select, the handset distributor owned by BBC Dragons’ Den entrepreneur Peter Jones CBE, has forged a partnership with new Irish MVNO Just Mobile to distribute handsets in Ireland.

The partnership is Data Select’s first entry into the Irish market and creates employment at a fulfilment centre in Finglas.

Exclusive handsets from the range of phones and smartphones in the Just Mobile range are available for purchase in participating Spar, Spar Express, EuroSpar, Mace and XL stores nationwide or on the Just Mobile website.

“I am personally delighted that Just Mobile has chosen Data Select as its launch partner,” Peter Jones commented. “Data Select offers a wide range of quality mobile products and services, including exclusive models that will help Just Mobile to differentiate itself in the Irish market.”

Tough stuff

The latest addition to the Just Mobile range is the JCB Toughphone Tradesman, the world’s first floating, waterproof and dustproof phone, which will be available to Just Mobile customers from early December. Made in association with JCB, the Toughphone Tradesman is manufactured to military specification, comes with a built-in torch, radio and Bluetooth.

“We are delighted to announce this partnership with Data Select which reflects our commitment to partnering with industry leaders and increasing local employment,” said Donal Lawless, co-founder and managing director of Just Mobile

“With handsets ranging from simple utility models to high-end smartphones, we have something to suit every type of user and every budget.

“Many of our handsets are also exclusive to the Just Mobile network. We will be increasing the variety of phones available to our customers further in the lead up to Christmas, in line with the expansion of our service offering and the broadening of our customer base,” Lawless said.
