Halo: Reach to go on sale at GameStop at midnight

13 Sep 2010

Gamer fans who have been looking forward to the most hotly anticipated game of 2010 – Halo: Reach – will be rewarded for their impatience tonight as the prequel to the Halo trilogy hits 14 GameStop stores at midnight across Ireland.

GameStop is opening its stores in Dublin (Henry Street), Dun Laoghaire, Carlow, Sligo, Waterford, Navan, Dundalk, Pavillions Swords, Cork (Patrick Street), Derry, Blackpool Cork, Killarney, Clonmel and Dublin’s Blanchardstown shopping centre at midnight on Monday, 13 September.

In Halo: Reach, Xbox 360 players experience the fateful moments that forged the Halo legend.

It’s the story of Noble Team, a squad of heroic Spartan soldiers, and their final stand on the planet Reach, humanity’s last line of defence between the terrifying Covenant and Earth.

This darker story from the Bungie team is echoed by grittier visuals amid a backdrop of massive, awe-inspiring environments. Characters, enemies and environments are rendered in amazing detail by an all-new engine designed to deliver epic-scale encounters against the cunning and ruthless Covenant.

Gamers who purchase or pre-order Halo: Reach at GameStop will receive an exclusive free Halo: Reach Multi-threat Armour download and gamers who pre-order Halo: Reach will also receive a free Recon Helmet Download.

Thrift for trade

Customers can buy Halo: Reach (standard edition) for only €3 when they trade any three games from a list of more than 300 titles at GameStop.

Games include NDS, Wii PS3 and Xbox 360 titles so it’s not limited to 360 titles. There are a broad range of titles within the list across all the major formats to give customers a great choice of titles to trade in and pick up Halo: Reach for only €3. The full list of titles that can be traded in can be found in-store, GameStop said.
