Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 now available in Ireland
Following its launch in the US just last week, the new Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 has arrived in Ireland, featuring a 10.1-inch display, 1.4 GHz Exynos quad core processor and 2GB of RAM running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Making it stand out from the iPad, the Galaxy Note 10.1 comes with a 6.5mm S Pen, an embedded stylus that can be used with specially optimised applications. In-built apps like S Note make great use of this feature, with templates for note-taking and technology that can recognise shapes and even mathematical formulas written on the tablet by hand and digitise them.
Adobe Photoshop Touch and Polaris Office also come pre-loaded and enabled for S Pen interaction.
The Galaxy Note 10.1 also lets users perform two tasks simultaneously via multiscreen technology. Two applications can be used side-by-side on the large tablet display, allowing for greater productivity. Using the S Note widget, users can also easily capture images and text from other apps.
Like the Samsung Galaxy S III, the Galaxy Note 10.1 uses Smart Stay technology to track users’ eyes to ensure the screen always stays on while they’re looking at it, and Pop-Up Play which enables users to watch videos while performing other tasks. AllShare Play lets users share content with other devices, while AllShare Group Cast lets them collaborate with others on documents.
The Galaxy Note 10.1 also comes with a 5MP rear camera with LED flash and a 1.9MP front-facing camera. Video can be recorded in high definition and full-HD 1080p playback is enabled.
Starting at €479, there are a variety of models to choose from. Two connectivity options, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi and 3G HSPA+, are available now with a Wi-Fi and LTE model to follow later this year. It comes in pearl white or pearl grey and users have a choice of 16GB, 32GB or 64GB worth of memory.
