World’s youngest Mac developer brings PizzaBot sequel to Mac and iOS

4 Jan 2012

Twelve-year-old Harry Moran from Cork – acknowledged by Apple as the world’s youngest Mac app developer – has followed up the success of his PizzaBot game with a new sequel called PizzaBot Season(ings) on both the Mac and iOS app stores.

Moran made history in late November when PizzaBot surpassed Angry Birds and Call of Duty to make it to the top of the Mac app charts.

PizzaBot centres around an innocent slice of pizza that wakes up in a kitchen infested by salami and goes on a quest to free the kitchen of the meaty tyrants.

Harry only learned how to code in the last three months at Coder Dojo, the initiative by 19-year-old James Whelton and technology entrepreneur Bill Liao aimed at increasing coding talent among Irish schoolchildren.

Harry said the sequel to PizzaBot is faster and more glitch-free than PizzaBot iOS.

PizzaBot isn’t in the top 10 Mac games anymore, but nothing yet has stayed ahead of Angry Birds so I’m pretty happy with its progress so far,” Harry told Siliconrepublic.com.

Harry, who will be attending the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition in Dublin next week, has just been kitted out with an iPad and iPhone 4S, so expect plenty more innovation from this enterprising young chap.
