Global semiconductors and data conversion technology company Analog Devices is creating 100 high-skilled jobs in Raheen, Co Limerick, in areas such as integrated circuit design and applications engineering over the next five years.
This is part of a €50m research and development (R&D) investment programme at its campus there, supported by IDA Ireland, including the building of a 140,000 sq-foot R&D centre.
It adds to the €23m investment in Ireland made by Analog Devices in June 2010 as part of a manufacturing expansion programme.
The new jobs will serve the global automotive, healthcare, industrial automation and communications markets.
Analog Devices has been operating in Ireland for 35 years and employs more than 1,000 people in Limerick, which is home to its European-based semiconductor wafer manufacturing facility and R&D for analog technologies, including data converters, as well as mixed-signal and RF (radio frequency) integrated circuits.
Its track record for engineering innovation and discovery is impressive, with 287 US patents being granted to Analog Devices’ inventors based in Ireland, which is nearly one-fifth of the total US patents held by the company.
