Aidan Keane, finance and IT director, BWG Foods, has been elected chairman of GS1 Ireland, the local member organisation of GS1, a global supply chain standards organisation. He will be responsible for the strategic development and direction of the organisation, both nationally and internationally. A chartered accountant by profession, Keane has been finance and IT director with BWG Foods since 2001. He previously worked as finance director for Tayto and as chief financial officer for CityJet and trained as a chartered accountant with KPMG. Keane holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from NUI, Galway and a Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Accounting from UCD.
