Dr Edward M Walsh has been appointed chairman of Stokes Bio Limited, an advanced research spin-off from the Stokes Research Institute at University of Limerick. He is also chairman of the Irish Council for Science Technology and Innovation and the National Allocation Advisory Group. He was founding president of the University of Limerick and has served as founding chairman of the National Technological Park and the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment. He is a graduate of the National University of Ireland and holds masters and doctorate qualifications in nuclear and electrical engineering from Iowa State University, where he was an Associate of the US Atomic Energy Commission Laboratory.
