Travel website TripAdvisor is launching a daily coding competition that will take place at next month’s Web Summit in Dublin aimed at rewarding and recognising coding talent.
TripAdvisor has created a daily coding competition open to web developers attending the event, with a range of prizes on offer for those able to solve coding puzzles themed around travel and the Web Summit, including VIP access to an exclusive Developers Lounge.
The Web Summit takes place between 4 and 6 November.
A new coding challenge will be issued on each day of the Web Summit, with both the challenges’ difficulty and winners’ rewards increasing with each passing day.
TripAdvisor’s arrival in Dublin
The Dublin hub is now the largest TripAdvisor engineering office of its kind outside the US, with a team of more than 20 helping to deliver new and improved features to TripAdvisor’s platforms around the world – including its core TripAdvisor websites and TripAdvisor for Business products.
“We know Ireland is home to the cream of the crop in the coding world and that the Summit brings together an even larger group of highly skilled engineers, so we’ve created this challenge as a way to directly engage, and challenge, that talent pool,” said Lars Holzman, director of engineering at TripAdvisor Ireland.
“Since opening a dedicated engineering hub in Dublin last year it has been great to be part of the buzz surrounding the world-class developer community that is growing here, and we’re always on the lookout for great engineering talent to join our team.”
