Mobile software player ZinMobi raises €560,000

5 Mar 2014

Dublin and Kerry tech start-up ZinMobi has secured a €560,000 investment, €250,000 of which has come from Enterprise Ireland through its high-potential start-up programme.

With a development and support office in Co Kerry, ZinMobi employs 12 people. That number is set to rise to 22 by the end of the year.

The company has developed mobile marketing and messaging technology which is delivered as software as a service and integrates with all major electronic point of sale systems.

Brian Stephenson, founder of ZinMobi, said the support from Enterprise Ireland is just what the company needs to turn its vision into reality and to expand quickly in other markets while it has a significant technological edge. “WhatsApp has shown the world what is possible when you create something that uses mobile phones to deliver immediate value to customers.”

The detail in retail

ZinMobi already serves many of Ireland’s leading retail and fast-food chains and a number of Irish pizza chains, and plans to build on this success by opening new offices in London and North America in 2014.

Lisa Vaughan, who is responsible for the High Potential Startup Division in Enterprise Ireland, said, “ZinMobi is a genuinely exciting company that shows exactly how innovative Irish technology companies can be.

“ZinMobi’s breakthrough technology is already delivering outstanding results for Irish businesses and we look forward to helping the company take its products and services to international markets.”
