Northern Ireland companies can grasp €114bn online market via workshops

12 Sep 2012

Business owners in Northern Ireland can gain practical skills in e-business via workshops Invest NI is holding to help companies leverage the projected 10pc compound annual growth in online sales in the UK over the next five years.

The eBusiness Advice Clinics, being held in Ballymena, Craigavon and Omagh, will cover topics such as pay per click, advertising, user experience, and online selling and conversion, that could help to improve sales, especially outside of Northern Ireland.

“There will be some 190m Europeans shopping online in 2014, generating an expected €114bn worth of sales,” said Tracy Meharg, Invest NI’s executive director, Business Solutions.

“Knowing how to reach these customers could enable companies to grow their business successfully by achieving higher sales.

“At our e-business clinics, we will have experts who will demonstrate the importance of choosing the best e-commerce platform, and the effective use of online advertising to reach new customers and drive online sales.”

The workshops will also give attendees information on how to access other Invest NI support programmes.
