Over €1.8bn in Irish home repair deals sealed online

Since its launch in 2005, Onlinetradesmen.com has helped connect individuals and tradespeople, resulting in the completion of over 200,000 Irish home improvement projects.

The total worth of all these home improvement jobs found and arranged completely online is estimated to be worth over €1.8bn.

Interestingly, Onlinetradesmen has found that the number of home improvement projects submitted over the past 12 months were up by 63pc on last year, indicating that the property-owning Irish public are seeking home improvement value online.

“Our continued growth, compared with a general decline in the construction sector, justifies our model of bringing the qualified trade professionals of Ireland under one roof for consumers to access” said Ted Laverty, managing director of Onlinetradesmen.

“These results suggest that not only have Irish property owners embraced the internet as a tool for sourcing trade professionals, but that they also require real assurances as to the quality of those services.

“People are becoming increasingly aware of the need to use qualified trade professionals where possible, avoiding directories and websites where these assurances do not exist.”
