Irishman Tony Redmond has been appointed as chief technology officer with HP Services Worldwide. In this role, he will be responsible for the technology strategy and leadership of HP Services and the development of the HP Services technology community. His remit also involves directing common R&D and technology leadership across the HPS business units. In addition, he will manage the HP Security Office and will be the worldwide security lead for the company. He has held a number of senior IT roles since joining Digital in Ireland in 1983. Digital was acquired by Compaq in 1997 which in turn merged with HP last year. He has previously served as the CTO for Compaq Professional Services, Compaq Global Services, before joining HP Consulting and Integration.
