Crospon, a medical device developer based in Galway, has appointed Hugh Kavanagh as chief financial officer. Kavanagh brings extensive experience to his new role with over 19 years experience in the medical and technology industry. He joins the team from Abbott Ireland Vascular Devices in Galway where he was finance director. Prior to this, Kavanagh held a number of senior management roles, including managing director at the Irish facility of RSA Security where he was responsible for establishing the Irish operation which services the company’s customers in the Europe and Asia Pacific regions. He has also held senior finance management positions with Tyco Healthcare and Transitions Optical and Oracle. A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Kavanagh trained and qualified as a chartered accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers. He holds a bachelor of commerce degree and post-graduate diploma in accounting from University College Dublin.
