Mobile ad revenue continues to pile in at social network Facebook, representing 69pc of fourth-quarter ad revenues. Facebook reported revenues of US$3.85bn and profits of US$701m for the quarter.
For the full year of 2014 Facebook revenues totalled US$12.47bn, up 58pc on 2013.
Profits for the full year 2014 were US$2.94bn. There were 890m daily active users in Q4 of which mobile daily active users were up 34pc to 745m on average. Total monthly mobile active users amounted to 1.19bn, up 19pc on 2013.
Facebook’s total community now stands at 1.39bn after growing 2.9pc quarter-on-quarter.
Looking closely at Q4 revenue from advertising was US$3.59bn, up 53pc, while mobile advertising revenue represented 69pc of all ad revenues compared with 53pc a year ago.

Payments and revenues from apps were US$257m, a 7pc increase on the previous year.
"We got a lot done in 2014. Our community continues to grow and we're making progress towards connecting the world," said Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook founder and CEO.
Capital spend for Q4 was US$517m and the company had amassed war chest of US$11.2bn in cash and other valuables.
According to an economic impact study by Deloitte in recent weeks Facebook in 2014 generated some US$225bn worth of economic activity and generated more than 4.5m jobs worldwide.
