Star Wars on Kinect – the Force will be strong in this one

22 Jul 2011

Microsoft and LucasArts have revealed the first custom Xbox 360 console with Kinect featuring a limited-edition Star Wars theme inspired by R2-D2 and C-3PO. Gamers will be able to physically take part in lightsaber duels and enjoy a new Podracing mode.

The new Star Wars Kinect bundle, which will debut alongside this much-anticipated game in December, will harness the controller-free Kinect to allow fans to physically experience Jedi training, use the Force while battling with a lightsaber and use full body motions to control the game.

The new bundle was unveiled yesterday during a panel presentation at the 41st Comic-Con International convention.

A Jedi mode, which was unveiled at E3, will allow gamers to enjoy body-controlled games with heroic animation through epic Jedi duels.

A new Podracing game will allow gamers to race in recognisable vehicles native to the Star Wars universe.

The bundle includes:

·        Kinect Star Wars game

·        Custom R2-D2-themed Xbox 360 console with custom sounds

·        White Kinect sensor

·        Custom C-3PO-themed Xbox 360 wireless controller
