Global managed services player Charles River is to create 30 new jobs in Dublin at a new managed services centre to meet growing demand for software as a service (SaaS) operations.
Charles River is an enterprise-wide front- and middle-office investment management solutions provider that employs 600 people worldwide and serves more than 350 investment firms in 43 countries.
“Worldwide, financial services firms are looking to simplify operations and reduce expenses with cloud-based computing,” said Tom Driscoll, global managing director, Charles River.
“We believe our private cloud-based Charles River Investment Management Solution delivers the best results for clients by ensuring successful deployment and immediate access to new capabilities, while allowing internal staff to focus on business priorities.
“Dublin’s reputation for a strong technical workforce makes it an ideal location for expanding our managed services team,” Driscoll said.
Charles River offers hosting, application management, integrated data, FIX connectivity support, and solution upgrades to help clients streamline processes and lower technology costs. The application is hosted in Charles River’s four top-tier, SSAE 16 compliant hosting centres in the US and UK.
Talented resources
Barry O’Leary, CEO of IDA Ireland, explained that as financial markets become increasingly complex requiring talented resources, Ireland is well placed to benefit from this opportunity in the coming years.
Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton, TD, met senior executives from Charles River as part of a recent IDA mission to the US.
“Financial services is a key sector we have targeted as part of our Action Plan for Jobs, and we have focused particularly on taking advantage of our strengths in the technology sector to attract financial services technology providers,” Bruton said.
“Charles River is a leading provider of tech solutions for the financial services industry, and today’s announcement that it is establishing a new high-end operation in Dublin is a great boost.”
