As part of a €28m investment, the parent company of Energia, Viridian Group, is to create 35 IT jobs over the next three years in its Belfast office.
With hiring beginning immediately, Viridian says that it is looking to hire IT professionals for a variety of roles, including project managers, technical analysts and business analysts.
Operating in both Northern Ireland and Ireland since 1999, with annual turnover of €2bn and a 27pc share of business energy sales, Viridian currently employs 480 staff on the island.
With the €28m, Viridian says it will look to expand and improve its IT systems – an area in which the company currently employs 100 of its staff.
Catherine Gardiner, Director of IT with Viridian, said, “This is an exceptional opportunity for IT professionals to join Viridian’s team and work on the development of a range of really cutting-edge IT projects, including the game-changing smart metering project for utilities.
“The roles will be based in our headquarters in Belfast, so they should be particularly attractive to IT professionals in Northern Ireland and the border counties of Cavan, Monaghan and Louth.
“The new hires will be joining an existing team of over 100 IT professionals and can look forward to working with them on some exciting and challenging projects.”
