Two companies in Shannon, Co Clare, are to create 170 new jobs for the region.

ZAGG, a US-based maker of accessories for electronic devices, is to create up to 40 jobs over the next five years as a result of its establishing a European services centre in Shannon.

The company will conduct administration, product design and sales and marketing activities for the centre.

ZAGG is to partner with CREGG Logistics for the manufacturing, assembly, packaging and logistics of their products on their behalf.

CREGG Logistics, therefore, will create 130 new jobs over the next two years.

Brian Packer, managing director of ZAGG International, said he hopes to create up to 300 jobs in Shannon over the next four years.
