Kirby Engineering Group to create 30 new jobs in Limerick

Kirby Group, the Irish mechanical and electrical engineering firm, is to create 30 new jobs at its operations in Limerick, with hiring beginning immediately.

According to the company, the positions will cover a variety of construction and engineering roles, including project management, site management and quantity surveying.

Thirty employees have been hired since the beginning of 2014.

The company has been doing well financially so far this year, across both the Irish and UK sectors, with turnover for 2014 expected to increase by 20pc from €90m in 2013 and €64m in 2012.

In the UK, Kirby Engineering Group, which is celebrating its 50th year in business, has already secured more than stg£20m of new business since the start of the year.

Kirby’s group managing director, Fergus Frawley, said the strong growth Kirby Group has experienced in recent years is continuing this year.

“We are continuing to secure significant new business wins both in Ireland and the UK. On the back of this, we are continuing our recruitment drive for experienced engineering talent. We are proud to be playing our part in answering Ireland’s job-creation needs.”
