As expected, Microsoft is planning native iOS and Android apps for Office 13. The company, which is launching Windows 8 later this month, will also begin accepting pre-orders for Office 13 from next week – several months ahead of launch.

Large corporates and partners of Microsoft will start using Office 13 from December this year but the consumer launch of the main product for Office 13 will happen in March.

According to Czech news site IHNED, Microsoft product manager Petr Bobek said that Office 2013 will launch in the first quarter of 2013 and Microsoft will then gradually publish versions for other platforms, including Windows Phone, Windows RT, Mac OS and Symbian.

An online version of Office 365 for mobile devices and tablets is also expected in March next year.
