20 May 2016

Summer is coming, and so are the smug holiday snaps on Facebook, Instagram etc.

As sure as the world turns, summertime brings an influx of smug holiday photos, ‘hot dogs or legs’ snaps and pictures of delicious-looking cocktails to our social media feeds.

As many of us are on the move during the summer, it’s no great surprise that research from Facebook has shown that content posted on mobile grew by 26pc last summer, with video content jumping by a whopping 43pc.

There was a 46pc spike in posts tagged with travel on Facebook in summer 2015, with #wanderlust and #nature among the most popular hashtags.

It’s not all about relaxing though, with running proving to be a top hashtag in the US in summer 2015 too.

Check out the infographic below for some more insights, and for a look at the sort of activity Facebook marketers are expecting to see across the social media site this summer.
