Microsoft has announced that more than 1 billion hours have been spent on its Xbox LIVE service in a month.
The technology giant said more than 25 million Xbox LIVE members have spent more than 1 billion hours on the service in a month, which averages to more than 40 hours per member.
Microsoft has attributed games like Halo: Reach and Fable III, as well as additional content – which is itself a driving force for online usage – for the performance, with games such as Call of Duty releasing add-on content via the Xbox LIVE network first.
The company recently announced it had sold more than 1 million copies worldwide of its sensor technology gaming device, the Kinect, keeping Microsoft on track to sell between 3 million and 5 million copies by the end of the year.
