Microsoft’s Xbox 360 ended 2012 as the best-selling console of the year in the US, with 1.4m units having been sold in December alone, the NDP Group reported.
NPD data also revealed the Xbox 360 held seven of the top 10 console games in December, including Halo 4, Assassin’s Creed III, Just Dance 4, NBA 2K13, Far Cry 3, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, and Madden NFL 13, Jeff Meisner wrote on The Official Microsoft blog.
“Microsoft expects 2013 to be another big year for Xbox 360, with even more offerings on the platform,” Meisner added.
Games slated for release on the Xbox 360 in 2013 include The Cave, due out this month; Dead Space 3 and Bioshock Infinite, both due out in February; Grand Theft Auto V, rumoured to be out in March; and Watch Dogs, due out some time this year.
