Cisco completes acquisition of ClearAccess
Cisco has wrapped up its acquisition of device and application management company ClearAccess for an undisclosed sum.
The acquisition provides Cisco with ClearAccess’ talent and software business. The ClearAccess team will be integrated into the Cisco Network Management Technology Group.
Cisco and ClearAccess’ combined network management and software capabilities will enable service providers to better deliver, manage and monetise their services, while helping to improve operational efficiencies and customer experiences, Cisco said in a statement.
Cisco to acquire Truviso
Network equipment provider Cisco is to acquire Truviso, a provider of scalable, real-time network data analysis and reporting software, for an undisclosed sum.
The acquisition will allow the two companies to provide instant access and visibility into network use and services to help increase operational efficiencies and drive new revenue streams for customers.
The Truviso team will be integrated into the Cisco Network Management Technology Group, and the deal, which is subject to closing conditions, is expected to close in Cisco’s 2012 fourth quarter.
Magnet buys UK FTTH player Velocity 1 – reveals fibre deal with Sky
Magnet Networks has entered the UK fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) market with the acquisition of a 90pc stake in UK fibre broadband player Velocity 1 from Quintain Estates and Development plc for an undisclosed sum. The move will see Magnet also work with Sky to provide TV services via fibre-to-the-home.
Quintain Estates will retain a 10pc stake in Velocity 1.
Quintain Estates is a London urban regeneration specialist with two of the largest urban regeneration sites in the UK. The Wembley City urban regeneration project alone includes 8m sq feet of commercial and residential space with 6,000 new homes planned in the coming 10 years. Greenwich Peninsula will have more than 10,000 homes when fully developed.
Using Magnet Networks’ Dublin offices as a shared services centre, the company will offer triple play fibre broadband services to UK homes and businesses on an open access basis.
Black Market Games hooks distribution deal with Big Fish Games
Derry games studio Black Market Games has signed a distribution deal with Big Fish Games that will take its debut title, Dead Hungry Diner, to more than 150 countries and territories.
The team at the independent games studio have been hard at work on developing their first release, and are happy to announce a partnership with the Seattle-based Big Fish Games.
“Big Fish’s knowledge and experience of the casual games market enabled us to improve Dead Hungry Diner beyond what would normally be achievable for a small developer alone,” said Eric Reinhart, CEO at Black Market Games. “We are looking forward to continuing this partnership over our forthcoming titles.”
