Dublin tech start-up to battle Europe’s top 100 businesses tonight

6 Mar 2014

A small, three-year-old Dublin tech start-up called Agile Networks will be one of five Irish companies competing among 100 of Europe’s best businesses in the European Business Awards in London tonight.

Agile Networks is one of only 100 companies in Europe selected in January for the Ruban d’Honneur, which qualified the company for the third and final round of the European Business Awards competition.

Up for the ‘Award for Customer Focus’, managing director of Agile Networks, Darragh Richardson, will present his business case to six judges, directly competing with companies such as Deutsche Telekom, Zurich’s Global Corporate subsidiary in the UK and Melia Hotels in Spain.

The other four companies are: Airspeed Telecom (RSM Entrepreneur of the Year Category); EPS Group (Millicom Award for Corporate and Social Responsibility); FCS Global (National Public Champion for Ireland) and The Irish Dairy Board (Import/Export Award).

500pc revenue growth

Agile Networks was established in 2011, following a successful management buy-out of Telindus’ Irish operations. In the three years since the MBO, the Blanchardstown-based company has grown its revenues by over 500pc.

“Our success in this year’s European Business Awards, shows that Irish companies are making their mark on the international stage,” Darragh Richardson said.

“We’re honoured to receive such industry recognition for our customer focus, both at home and abroad; we now serve more than 50 customers across 900 sites and over 1,000,000 end users, so having a ‘best in class’ customer focus is a critical success factor in our sector.”
