Global online reservations specialist Hostelworld.com, which is based in Dublin, has signed a partnership deal with Rail Europe, a UK expert in European train travel.
The new partnership will exclusively provide hostels, B&Bs, budget hotels and other types of budget accommodation to Rail Europe’s customers.
Rail Europe users will now be able to book directly on the Hostelworld.com site, allowing them to access their accommodation inventory of more than 25,000 properties throughout Europe and the rest of the world.
It will also enable them to benefit from the features of Hostelworld.com, including property descriptions and photos, more than 3.5m user ratings and reviews, travel services and content, such as travel videos and podcasts.
Yvonne Finlay, group partnerships manager with Hostelworld.com, said: “We are now in a unique position to provide the widest range of affordable accommodation to millions travelling by train right across Europe.
“Hostels are no longer just for the 20-something backpacker – along with dorm rooms, many hostels now offer private rooms, ensuite bathrooms, free internet, pools, bars and restaurants.”
She added that this partnership is one of a number Hostelworld looks forward to announcing in 2011. Hostelworld.com is fully owned and operated by Web Reservations International.
