JobsinHealth picks up Doherty online business

JobsinHealth.ie has acquired HealthSectorJobs.com from Doherty Advertising, the failed advertising agency, for an undisclosed sum.

HealthSectorJobs.com, formerly Medical-Posts.com, is Ireland’s longest established health recruitment website. It was established by Doherty Advertising more than three years ago as an online vehicle for its health clients’ job vacancies. At its height HealthSectorJobs.com counted more than 60 health boards, hospitals and voluntary bodies among its customer base.

JobsinHealth.ie’s managing director and co-founder, Stephen McLarnon, said: “This dramatically increases our market share and solidifies our position in the market as Ireland’s leading specialist health sector recruitment website. Our experience in the UK market, with more than 200 NHS trusts and hospitals as customers, is that with tight budgetary conditions, more and more health employers are turning to the internet to substantially reduce recruitment advertising costs.”

He added: “The acquisition of HealthSectorJobs.com will enhance the service already provided to our existing customers and provide a new medium for those health employers currently considering online recruitment to reduce their advertising costs.”

Established 18 months ago, Jobs in Health consists of a main recruitment site, JobsinHealth.ie, and three niche health sites: Jobs in Nursing, Jobs in Medicine and Jobs in Science (incorporating Jobs in Pharmaceutical). The company has signed exclusive partnerships with a number of organisations to operate their respective members’ job sections, including the Irish Nurses Organisation, the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists and Irish Association of Social Workers.
