Cruickshank Intellectual Property Attorneys has appointed Seamus Doherty as senior trademark attorney. Doherty specialises in a range of trademark matters, including brand clearance and portfolio strategy, and has broad experience in prosecution and contentious matters, including oppositions and revocation proceedings at the Irish Patents Office and the Office for Harmonisation in the Internal Markets in Alicante, Spain. His primary role with Cruickshank is dealing with and advising on the trademark portfolios held by clients of the practice. Seamus was previously a trademark attorney with Tomkins & Company from 1994 to 2006. Prior to this, he was a trademark specialist at Tomkins from 1984. Doherty is currently an overseas member of the Institute of Trademark Attorneys and a member of the European Communities Trademark Association. He is also a member of the Association of Patent and Trademark Attorneys in Ireland, where he serves on the internet committee. Doherty is also a membership ambassador with the Dublin Chamber of Commerce.
