Eircom hints at new fibre and TV offering as it rolls out triple play bundle

22 Oct 2012

Eircom has said that after launching a new €55 per month mobile, broadband and home phone bundle, this is just the start of a multi-product bundling strategy and the next steps will include the launch of a fibre and TV offering.

The company is clearly attempting a fightback in the face of mounting competition from UPC, which has been successful with its phone and fibre broadband strategy and is preparing to defend itself against competition from Sky, which is getting ready to enter the Irish broadband market.

The new triple play bundle combines mobile, broadband and home phone services in one bundle from €55.

The bundle offers unlimited calls to any eMobile or Meteor number and unlimited anytime calls to any landline in Ireland and upwards of 500Mb of data, depending on which bundle is chosen. Bundles range in price from €55 up to €79 per month.

“Eircom was the first Irish operator to launch bundle products into the market, offering consumers better value for their calls and broadband,” said the company’s chief commercial officer Carolan Lennon.

“It’s a natural progression for us now to move to a mobile triple play bundle,” she added.
