The Sustainability Gathering: Enabling, Financing & Delivering Sustainable Growth will be held in Dublin Castle on December 12, and will bring together a range of high-level participants to outline the best sustainability practices of leading organisations, trends in sustainability investment and finance, and emerging policy and enterprise drivers.

Speakers will include domestic and international leaders in sustainability, such as Angus McCrone, editor-in-chief, Bloomberg New Energy Finance; Sean O’Driscoll, CEO, Glen Dimplex; Jonathan Maxwell, founding partner and CEO, Sustainable Development Capital; Julie Sinnamon, CEO, Enterprise Ireland; Eugene O’Callaghan, director, National Pensions Reserve Fund of Ireland; and Richard Bruton, TD, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, will also address the group.

An Taoiseach Enda Kenny told last year’s gathering that “the green economy and sustainable development agendas are a key element of Ireland’s economic recovery strategy”, and announced that another such event would be held in 2013 – the Sustainability Gathering.

“The countries that provide the solutions to a low carbon transition, will lead the world in the 21st century,” said Stephen Nolan, Sustainability Gathering chairman. “This year’s Sustainability Gathering aims to determine the next steps for Ireland in its quest t o create new jobs in the green economy.”

Other speakers will include John Bruton, president, European Resource Efficiency Platform and president, IFSC Ireland; Owen Keegan, city manager, Dublin City Council; Kieran Donoghue, global head of International Financial Services, IDA Ireland; Louise Wilson, managing director, Generation Abundance; Eugene O’Callaghan, director, National Pensions Reserve Fund of Ireland; and Richard Nourse, managing partner, Greencoat Capital.
