Salesforce.com has said the cost of doing business in Europe is higher and this justifies charging higher rates to UK and European customers.
The issue arose on the website IrishDev.com, where Salesforce.com issued a statement detailing the company’s position.
“Everything from your last Windows upgrade to your favourite iTunes song will cost more in Europe compared to the US. The cost of doing business in Europe is higher,” Salesforce.com vice-president for Europe, the Middle East and Africa marketing, Tim Barker, said.
Cloud specialists Salesforce.com distributes business software on a subscription basis and will announce its third quarter results next week.
