Consumer electronics giant Apple has a media event planned for 7 September to announce its new line of iPods, a Japanese website reports.
The website also claims the new iPhone 5 smartphone will ship in September or early October, but it’s unclear if it will be unveiled at the 7 September event.
The site, Kodawarsian, has accurately reported Apple rumours in the past. The date 7 September does fall in line with Apple’s pattern of releasing new iPods in the first part of September.
It’s possible news of an iPhone 5 could be forthcoming on 7 September – Apple has usually announced a new iPhone at its WWDC conference in June, but that didn’t happen this year.
