The Samsung Galaxy Tab is now available in Ireland from Vodafone, O2, Meteor, eMobile, 3 and Carphone Warehouse.

Running on Android 2.2, it’s the first tablet computer from Samsung and is set to take on the iPad’s dominance in the market.

The tablet computer offers PC-like web browsing, Android apps availability and the ability to voice and video call others.

The 7-inch tablet includes a TFT display and weighs 380 grams. It comes with a front and back camera and the Tab supports Flash Player 10.1 for web browsing.

It includes a ‘Readers Hub,’ an e-reading app from Samsung which gives access to a digital library of books. Samsung also has a Media Hub for video files, which can be watched on its HD screen, and a Music Hub for music files.

The Tab includes 3G connectivity, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0 and is built with a Cortex A8 1.0GHz application processor.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab is available from €79 on selected bill pay tariffs in Vodafone, O2, Meteor, eMobile, 3 and Carphone Warehouse.
