Sling Media Inc has released SlingPlayer Mobile software for Windows Phone 7 on the Windows Marketplace, giving users the ability to watch TV on their WP7 handset.

John M Paul, executive vice-president of products at Sling Media, has said the focus on SlingPlayer Mobile on Windows Phone 7 is on user experience.

“From the fully revamped user interface to the clear, sharp video images, customers are going to thoroughly enjoy watching TV on their Windows Phone 7 handsets,” said Paul.

The software connects to a Slingbox SOLO or Slingbox PRO-HD. These devices connect to a home-theatre device to watch SD or HD TV on your phone over the internet.

Users can change channels, control their DVRs and watch favourite shows on phones through a 3G or Wi-Fi connection.

SlingPlayer Mobile for Windows Phone 7 is available now on the Windows Marketplace costing €21.10 plus VAT. The software is only available in English for now, with more to follow soon.
