Vodafone heads to Facebook for charity drive

As part of the Vodafone Ireland Foundation, the Irish telecoms company is offering four people the chance to work for the charity of their choice – and get a salary – with the World of Difference programme.

The campaign is being driven through Facebook and allows entrants to apply directly through the popular social networking site.

With a closing date of 18 April, applicants are encouraged to take inspiration from last year’s winners as they get a chance to do charity work for an entire year without worrying about financial restrictions as all expenses are paid for the winner with a salary of up to €40,000.

The judging panel, which consists of Claire Byrne, Ray D’Arcy, Roisin Ingle, Gavin Duffy and Vodafone Foundation Ireland’s Carolan Lennon, will select three winners, as well as three finalists, from which the fourth winner is chosen by public vote.

“World of Difference has grown so much in the last three years, and we expect the standard of candidates to be stronger than ever this year. On behalf of Vodafone, I am proud that we can provide four people a truly life-changing experience, as well as offering their chosen charity committed, passionate and highly qualified employees,” said Charles Butterworth, CEO of Vodafone Ireland.
