Some 330 international patent experts – including senior patent experts from Google and the European Commission – are to attend a major European conference on patents in Kilkenny tomorrow.
The European Patent Office (EPO) Patent Information Conference 2011 which runs from the 18 to 20 October is the biggest of its kind in Europe and will be attended by 330 patent experts from over 40 countries.
The event will kick-off at the Lyrath Hotel Centre in Killkenny where it will be opened by the Minister Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton TD.
Speakers and attendees will include Benoit Battistelli, President of the European Patents Office, Jim O’Hara, former head of Intel Ireland, Jon Orwant, Google Book Search Project and Prof. Nigel Shadbolt, Initiator of the UK Open Government Project.
