Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton is due to visit VMWare in Ballincollig, Cork, this morning to make what his department has described as a “significant announcement”.
The global virtualisation software company, which was set up in Palo Alto, California, in 1998 and is majority owned by EMC, currently employs more than 500 people in Cork.
Elsewhere, Newstalk reports that 25 jobs are being created at fleet management and corporate leasing company, Sixt Leasing Ireland. It’s understood that the new jobs will bring the total number of people employed at the company in Ireland to 30.
