Ralph Lauren opens e-commerce hub in Dublin with 8 jobs

Iconic fashion brand Ralph Lauren has announced the opening of an e-commerce hub in Dublin, with the creation of eight jobs.

While Ralph Lauren has typically been associated with elite high street fashion, in recent years the company has faced the growing challenge of online clothing stores by ramping up its own availability online.

In 2015, it was estimated that the brand made more than $780m in online sales across the fiscal year, following the recognition that it had increased e-commerce sales by 16pc in Q4 alone.

Now, in an IDA Ireland announcement, the company has confirmed it is to open its Global eCommerce Centre at Sir John Rogerson’s Quay, with the creation of eight positions.

Initially, it is expected that it will host two teams focused on supporting the company’s global e-commerce business, split between developing its online platform and the technology behind it; while the second team will provide fraud and payments services for the company’s global business.

The company has also added a possibility that should the centre prove successful, it will look to increase its presence in Dublin in the coming years.
