Trilateral Research will create 40 jobs in software development, data science and more as its expands its presence in Waterford.
Belview Port, just outside Waterford, will be the site of a new European operations centre for UK-based research, consultancy and technology development company Trilateral Research.
The company already has an office in Waterford but now plans to add 40 roles over the next four years. It will look to develop its machine learning, AI and software specialisms at this operations centre, alongside research, data protection and cyber-risk services.
The new roles will be in the areas of software development, data science and data ethics as well as administrative support. Trilateral Research was established in 2004 and is headquartered in London.
Trilateral Research’s senior practice manager and head of Irish operations, Rachel Finn, said that the south-east region of Ireland is an “emerging technology hub” and an “excellent launchpad for regional, national and international collaboration”.
The company’s co-director, Kush Wadhwa, added: “We are delighted to expand our work in Europe via the Waterford office and have been fortunate to avail of the high-quality talent pool of technology experts here in Ireland.
“Being co-located in Ireland also allows us to work directly with cutting-edge technology companies from other international locations, enabling us to participate in international innovation efforts.”
‘Great news for Waterford’
Táiniste and Minister for Enterprise Trade and Employment Leo Varadkar, TD, said the jobs announcement was “great news for Waterford”.
“Trilateral is a cutting-edge company and their decision to double their headcount over the next year and to create 40 new jobs over the next four years is a welcome boost for the south-east,” he said.
“The Government is focused on creating new opportunities across the country and we will be working to secure further investment for all regions, in the months and years ahead.”
IDA Ireland CEO Martin Shanahan also said the announcement was a “vote of confidence in Waterford and the south-east region’s ability to provide a highly skilled and talented workforce”.
