Topaz to create 100 jobs in Laois and Carlow

1 Oct 2013

Motorists in Ireland will be able to avail of Wi-Fi, an EV charger and even showers at new motorway service stations Topaz is building in counties Laois and Carlow, creating 100 jobs on the back of an €8m investment.

One station will be located at Junction 3 on the Dublin-Cork motorway (M8) near Ballacolla in Laois, and the other will be located on Junction 5 of the Dublin-Waterford road (M9).

Work on the Co Laois site is expected to begin in January and be completed by July 2014.

Planning permission has been submitted for the Co Carlow site, and if granted, work is to begin there next summer.

The new sites will include “Wi-Fi internet access, a top quality hot food buffet and cafe, EV charger, children’s play area, toilets and showers,” Paul Candon, marketing and corporate services director at Topaz, told Newstalk.
