Actor Wesley Snipes to launch video game from prison

13 Jan 2011

Hollywood actor Wesley Snipes, star of the Blade trilogy of films, has said he is working on a multi-platform gaming release despite serving a three-year prison sentence for tax evasion.

Snipes revealed the game, titled Julius Styles: The International, will be made available for the iPhone, iPad, Xbox Live and PlayStation Network.

The game, Snipes said, “was inspired by my desire to bring my Art of War, Murder at 1600 and Passenger 57 characters into the game world.” Players will have their street knowledge survival skills pitted against their academic intellect and “spiritual intuition,” Snipes said, adding that the game will appeal to the “mind-game strategist and the kick-ass special ops warrior lover”.

Julius Styles: The International is scheduled to be available for iOS devices in June and for consoles afterwards.

Lapland Studio is to develop the game, with backing from Red 27 and Elstree Studio Productions.
