Amidst accelerated volatility on global markets and fevered speculation, Google has again demonstrated its gift for timing. The searched giant has introduced a new Finance tab that allows surfers ranging from amateurs to financial hotshots to pull together and personalise trends, news and research in one place.

The new API that can be added to the iGoogle personalised home page allows user to manage everything from stock portfolios to getting an instant overview of sectors ranging from energy to technology, healthcare, transport and conglomerates.

Users can also draw together various specialist financial newswires such as Motley Fool, Reuters, Forbes, CNN Money and Bloomberg in one place.

“Google Finance gadgets are interactive and update dynamically, allowing users to quickly and easily find the information they are looking for in one location,” the company said.

“The tab also allows users to add, customise and share their Google Finance experience with anyone they choose – investor buddies, finance enthusiasts, or the whole world.”

The site also posts video interviews and video blogs with financial analysts and from various news services using the Google Video application.

The new dashboard can be accessed at http://finance.google.com

New gadgets, included in the dashboard include: Top Movers, SnapQuote, Related companies, Company Overview, MiniChart and Company Sector.
